Volunteers Wanted!

We only serve Eastern North Carolina- so all volunteers MUST be local to our area!

Being a volunteer is so much more than wearing a superhero costume or being a cosplayer. Our volunteers must be able to interact with people from all walks of life, from the young to the elderly, from special needs individuals to the average shy child. Our volunteers must be outgoing, social, able to communicate clearly, fun, able bodied, and willing to sacrifice their time to make someone else’s day better.

Please note that not all volunteers will be selected as we have large criteria of items we look at when speaking to potential candidates.

We make every effort to place individuals in the position they are interested in. However, volunteer position availability varies.

Minimum Age: 18 years old. We may make exceptions for 16+ if they are enrolled in high school courses and we have a consult with their parent/guardian in advance. Volunteers under 18 years of age are not permitted to attend hospital visits (per hospital rules).

Processing Required: Prospective volunteers must complete a volunteer application and submit to a background check prior to getting started as a volunteer.

Interview: A screening interview may be scheduled with Project Superhero; this might include a costume fitting. Applicants are reviewed and considered based on assessed skills, interests, level of demonstrated commitment and the availability of volunteer positions.

Orientation and Training: Prospective volunteers may be asked to attend a basic training class with a supervisor. This might involve some practice training based on the role you will be placed in.

Attendance: Volunteers are asked to only sign up for events they are very certain they can attend. Once committed to volunteer for a specific event, we ask that the volunteers do their very best to meet that commitment if at all possible.

Please email us if interested in volunteering and we will provide you with an application link. Email: info@projectsuperhero.org
